TSD Advisory Committees

District Advisory Committee

According to state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251), school policy and the direction of the TSD Governing Board, the District Advisory Committee (DAC) is composed of various stakeholders such as parents, teachers, administrators, community representatives, and other school staff. Specific responsibilities of the DAC include but are not limited to:
  • Provide input into decisions relating to areas of planning, budgeting, curriculum, educational and residential programming, staff development and school organization
  • Provide assistance in the development, evaluation, monitoring , and annual revision of the District Improvement Plan (DIP)
  • Provide input and comment on the TSD student performance
 
 

 

School Health Advisory Council

SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) is a school board appointed advisory group of individuals who represent different segments of the community. By law, a majority of the members must be persons who are parents of students enrolled in the district and who are not employed by the district. The TSD SHAC is made up of parents, community members, students, and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs.
