Stella Egbert

 

Stella Egbert currently serves as the Director of Instruction at the Texas School for the Deaf, supporting TSD’s instructional programs, from birth to 22 years of age.  She previously served as the school’s Professional Development and American Sign Language Services Specialist, focusing on strengthening professional development practices and processes and ASL services for students.  She also fulfilled the role of the principal of the Parent Infant Program, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary programs. Stella began her career at TSD as a substitute, teaching high school students and later taught at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf.

 

Stella is also completing her doctorate in School Improvement at the Texas State University in San Marcos. Her dissertation focuses on the generational implications on leaders having experienced deaf education who are now currently serving K-12 programs.  Stella holds a Master in Education from Texas State, a Master in Arts from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Gallaudet University.
