Peter L. Bailey

Peter L. Bailey is the Head of School (Superintendent) of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia since July 1, 2016. He has over 30 years of experience in Deaf Education, including his work in various administrative positions at The Learning Center for the Deaf (MA), the Maryland School for the Deaf, the Delaware School for the Deaf, the Texas School for the Deaf, and the American School for the Deaf. He has also worked for Communication Service for the Deaf in both Texas and South Dakota, where he was able to affect change in the social services sector. He was a former board member for the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD) and American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC). He holds a BS in Human Services and an MS in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
