Breaking Barriers: ASL Access to 988 Lifeline Hotline

The 988 Lifeline hotline, accessible through every student's back ID 988, supports calls in American Sign Language (ASL). This means that Deaf, DeafBlind, Deafdisabled, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened individuals can simply click on "ASL Now" at 988lifeline.org to connect with the service.

Efforts are still underway to enable direct calls from "ASL Now" on the website, and they aim to make this option available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can still reach direct ASL services by calling 1-800-273-8255 from your VP.

For more details, you can find the news release from SAMHSA linked here.

We also have this information on our TSD Mental Health Website.

Stay connected and continue to spread awareness within the TSD community! Together, we can make a positive impact and support one another.
