Dear Families, Caregivers and Staff,
We just participated in a call with the National Weather Service and all city and county first responders. They have extended the Winter Storm Warning until Thursday morning. We are expecting multiple rounds of freezing rain through Wednesday night. Temperatures might not rise above freezing until mid morning on Thursday. We will continue to monitor and keep you updated about Thursday.
We will remain closed on Wednesday, February 1. Announcements are being made on social media, TV stations and the website as I write.
I am grateful for all who have been able to work to support our campus students. If you can possibly arrive safely and feel comfortable I am sure we will need more assistance as this weather event continues. Contact Wilmonda or Keri if you are able to assist.
Parents of dorm students, our staff are doing a great job taking care of your students. We have food, including hot meals, health center staff, security staff, some of our residential staff and others who are able to arrive on campus safely providing support to the students in the dorms. The kids are enjoying time in the Deaf Smith Center, the gyms, beloved video games and a movie this evening.

Acabamos de participar en una llamada con el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional y todos los socorristas de la ciudad y el condado. Han extendido el Aviso de Tormenta Invernal hasta el jueves por la mañana. Esperamos múltiples rondas de lluvia helada hasta el miércoles por la noche. Es posible que las temperaturas no suban por encima del punto de congelación hasta media mañana del jueves. Continuaremos monitoreando y manteniéndolo informado sobre el jueves.
