Deaf School Welcomes Delegates From National Accreditation Organization

Austin Texas - November 7, 2021 – Today, Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) welcomes representatives from the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD).

CEASD is a national organization with accreditation authority for U.S. schools serving students who are deaf and hard of hearing, based on twelve quality standards set to positively affect student performance and show continuous improvement. In addition to meeting the quality standards for accreditation the school must complete a critical self-analysis whereby the school community examines the work of the school against research-based factors to set the strategic direction for the school in support of its mission and vision.

The CEASD accreditation team of professionals with in depth experience as administrators in deaf education, are onsite visiting the TSD campus, through November 10, 2021 – a review that happens every five years.

About the process to prepare for such a visit, TSD Superintendent Claire Bugen says, “It is very comprehensive and engages our entire community in continuous improvement.

The school faculty and staff has been diligent with our work preparing for this visit for the last year and a half in spite of some setbacks due to COVID-19, so we are excited to finally welcome these esteemed delegates to review the amazing programs and services TSD provides to students and the community.”
