Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year here at TSD. I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Tim Ervin I will be teaching in elementary, this school year. My Parra Educator this year in my class is Jennifer. I have been teaching at TSD in the Special Needs Department for over 6 years. My undergrad is in Communication Disorders Deaf Education from Lamar University in Beaumont. I look forward to a great year here at TSD.
The curriculum we use provides a scope and sequence so that we cover all the required TEKS. The standard is set high this year. Our theme this year for TSD is Stronger Together. I hope that you will join in as we all work together for all of our students Ranger to Ranger. We will be going out in the community for our community activities. This is the time that we will be working on the skills that we have learned in class and apply them to real world. For this we need $20.00 at the first of each month to cover the cost of going out in the community.
This year we will be sending the communication log home on a daily basis. The communication log, which is one way we can communicate with each other. If you will please read the log and sign at the bottom in the space provided. We would also like to know what your student did that night at home. There is a separate page for that. The other thing that we will be sending home is a homework folder. The students will have a book a week to read, do vocabulary work and answer questions about the story.
I have attached a parent contact for. Please fill this out and return it to me so that I can have all your information in one place. I like to have open communication with all the parents. If you ever have any questions please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I have my school e-mail on my phone so I will try to get back with you as soon as possible.
