Hi my name is Lawrence K. Smith, AKA: Larry.  I am very proud of my alma mater. Grew up at TSD since my educational hood has influenced me to become an educator as a teacher and coach; furthermore, I want to pay that forward, which is why I want to continue to teach TSD students.

This is my 16th year of teaching High School. Currently, I am a certified teacher working at DAEP classroom. I have found it to be rewarding because I saw very much of TSD Alma maters’ accomplishments in their life and made difference in their endeavors path.

I have attended The National Technology Institute for the Deaf (NTID) with an Associated Applied Science degree in Industrial Drafting. I also ran Track & Field for 2 years. Later on, I attended to Gallaudet University, played 4 years letterman for BISON football team, and obtained my Bachelor of Art in History.  I also received my Master degree in Deaf education and Deaf Studies from Lamar University, 2002.   I am also currently the TSD Head Coach for both Girls and Boys Track & Field. I have been coaching several sports for 22 years at TSD.

“It is cliché to say, “All children can learn”. This is so completely true. Looking forward for a great school year.

Curious about my beyond of working world!
