My name is Keith Baker and I teach Auto Collision Repair & Refinishing (ACRR), Driver's Ed, and Dollars & Sense at Texas School for the Deaf.

I taught ACRR at TSD from 2000-2006 and had the opportunity be a part of the “Monster Garage” episode on building a rat rod with our students! Then in 2006, my family moved to Minnesota and I taught at Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf (MSAD). My family returned to Austin, TX and TSD in 2015. It’s been good to be home again at TSD!

I received my Bachelor of Science in Deaf Education from the University of Science of Arts of Oklahoma in 1990 and attended graduate school at Western Maryland College. I have my Texas Teacher Certificate (K-12) and I-CAR Certificate of Advanced Training.

I am married to Rachel Baker and we have four children: Ben (20), Emma (17), Mayank (10) and Manjiri (8).  My two youngest kids are TSD students.  My wife also works at TSD as the Toddler Learning Center supervisor.

My hobbies are restoring old classic cars & trucks, building a 24-hours LeMon Racing car, taking the boat out on the lake, traveling to other countries, being a fan of Oklahoma Sooners Football, and remodeling houses.

The best time to contact me is during my prep time, which is M/W: 11:40 AM-12:50 AM and T/TH: 10:25 AM-11:35 AM.
