Welcome!

 

Hello there! I am excited to start off the 2023-2024 school year with your child. I am Alysha (“Aly”). I came to TSD from San Diego, California so this will be my first year teaching at TSD. I am originally from Fresno, California.

I received my B.A. from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in Deaf Studies: Education and a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. I received my M.A. in ASL/English Bilingual Education and teaching credentials from University of California San Diego (UCSD).

Coming from a Deaf family and having great experiences with learning, I became passionate about teaching because I want to ensure that every child gets full access to an equitable education. I want to be able to make learning exciting while at the same time, preparing your child for the world after K-12.

During my free time, I enjoy relaxing at home with my two dogs, hanging out with friends, trying new food places, and traveling. My favorite food is Chipotle. Back in California, I enjoyed going to the beach as I lived right by the beach but now I am on a mission to find things that I enjoy doing in Austin!
