A. Bishop's Math Class

Hello everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself briefly. I'm Austin Bishop, born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. After high school at Birdsville ISD, I studied Mechanical Engineering Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). But then, my path shifted. I felt a strong call to teach and help the Deaf community. I moved to Oklahoma for college at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education. During this time, I met the love of my life, now my fiancée. Later, I taught math to 7th to 12th graders at Kansas School for the Deaf from 2020 to 2022. While teaching, I also earned a Master's degree in Deaf Education Studies from Gallaudet University.

I'm a proud dad to an almost two-year-old named Merle and four furry pets. Exploring different cuisines and enjoying the outdoors, especially camping and hiking, are passions of mine. Oh, and if you need a favor, cookies are the way to my heart! Returning to Texas is a joy for me. I became a teacher because I'm passionate about guiding students toward bright futures. I hold dear the saying, "If the plan doesn't work, change the plan but never the goal."

In my Math class, I'm excited to engage and empower you through lifelong learning. You can reach me by email at [email protected], drop by my classroom (Room 312), or schedule a meeting during my office hours for any questions or concerns.

Looking forward to a fantastic 2023-2024 school year together!
