Message from Eric Hogue, President of the TSD Governing Board.

Governing Board

TSD Administrators, Teachers and Support Staff,

On behalf of the TSD Governing Board, I want to wish you and your family a Happy Holidays and a great New Year. I hope you enjoy your time off with your family and friends.

It’s hard to believe that another year has passed and that 2016 is just around the corner. Thank you for the work you do each day in making TSD such a success at the local, state and national level. Please know that your efforts do not go unnoticed by the Board.

As we begin the new year, I believe some exciting things are on the horizon for TSD. Last week, we held our December Board Meeting, and welcomed two new board members, Ryan Hutchison and David Saunders. We also elected our board officers for the coming year. I am honored to serve as your Board President and I want to congratulate Shawn Saladin for being named, Board Vice President and Angie Wolf being named as our Board Secretary. I truly appreciate their willingness to serve in these roles.

The board also had an opportunity to focus on the best way to lead and support our school as we move forward. While each of us, as board members, come from different backgrounds and experiences, we all have a passion and love for TSD as a school district and as a state agency. We are unique in that we must serve in a dual capacity role in order to insure success for our students and our state government.

To help us in those efforts, the board has directed our Superintendent, Claire Bugen, and our Chief Financial Officer, Justin Wedel, to find a way to bring a Government Relations person onto to our team. We believe this will help us in developing a stronger and more positive relationship with our State Legislators and the Governor’s Office.

We also had other requests and needs which will tie into the strategic planning for our school that many of you will be involved in as we begin the new year.

Finally, I want to thank the TSD Middle School students who participated in the play, James and the Giant Peach. It was WONDERFUL! I really enjoyed meeting each of the students/actors, and I can’t wait for the next production.

Thanks again for all you do, and I hope you and yours have a great holiday!

Eric Hogue,
TSD Board President
