ACCESS Job Coach
“Choose a job that you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
-Confucius
My job at Texas School for the Deaf as an ACCESS Job Coach is to assist young Deaf and hard of hearing adults in developing themselves to become successful and fulfilled individuals within our society. How could I not love my job?
In regards to education, background, and expertise, I have spent the larger part of ten years studying ASL, starting right here with Austin Sign Language School at TSD, and involving myself in the Deaf community. I love the beautifully unique and family-centered culture of the Deaf. I also attended an interpreter-training program and have been certified as a BEI Basic Interpreter. I hold a Bachelors of Arts in English with a continued enjoyment of all things written or printed on hard copy paper! When it comes to enjoying life, I can't get enough of being outside in every way! I love to play (rock-climbing, basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc), hike, bike, run, walk, and soak in the beauty of nature and the sunshine! I am also delighted by excellent books, animals, beautiful art, and bits of nature's color-pops like flowers and birds.
