My name is Carlos Mendez and I am a transition teacher within the ACCESS Program at TSD. I have worked at TSD since 2008 and am exciting to work with current and new students this year! 

 

It is my belief as a deaf educator to prepare students for the changing social, technical, and economic world in which they live and work. My role in the classroom is to help students develop their abilities and independent skills necessary for the betterment of each individual and to watch them grow to their full potential. Therefore, empowering students is the key to help them become more independent, productive, and contributing citizens toward taking ownership of their future. The impact of empowerment helps students to not only develop daily living skills and achieve success in work, but to also become open-minded, unstoppable owners of their lives.
