Amelia Regalado - ACCESS Teacher
Hello all!
This year will be my 4th year with the ACCESS department, and my 7th year with TSD. My first 3 years, I worked with the Special Needs Department, and then I transferred to the ACCESS Department in 2016. For a total of 7 years, I've worked with the special needs population. Every day brings new and exciting challenges, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I enjoy watching our students grow and blossom throughout their years in our program, and I take great joy in sharing in their happiness and excitement when they "graduate" our program and go out into the community to live their lives a better person than they were when they first came to us!
I do my best to provide a warm and inviting environment in my classroom, not only for students, but for their parents as well! After all, we are a TEAM and together, we can work to provide the supports needed for your young adult to develop and grow to the best of their abilities!
I am a native Texan, born and raised! I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (Brownsville), moved to Colorado in 2000, then moved back to Texas in 2007. Since then I've lived in San Antonio, Nacogdoches, and finally Austin in 2013. I've made my home here in Austin, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family exploring all that Austin has to offer.
