Austin, Texas – November 30, 2023 – Today, students from Texas School for the Deaf’s (TSD) Culinary Arts program visit the Texas Capitol delivering homemade goodies to state leaders in time for the holidays - a tradition the school began more than 25 years ago.

In his monthly vlog, TSD Superintendent Peter Bailey discusses updates for the month of November, emphasizing the significance of family, friends, and celebration during this time. He highlights the core values of TSD, which include Learn, Grow, and Belong (LGB), and how he has integrated the principles of Accountability, Commitment, and Expectations (ACE) into the school's culture. Peter also shares his vision for the school's future, focusing on the motto "TSD Is, TSD Can, TSD Will" to promote unity and belonging. He mentions his recent activities, including building connections with legislative offices, the successful Homecoming event, and the partnership with the TSD Foundation. Bailey concludes by mentioning his upcoming attendance at the Greater Austin Foundation for the Deaf Gala in mid-November, expressing his commitment to further communication and representation for TSD.

He mentioned the generous $50,000 award from Harbor Freight Tools for Schools to Keith Baker, the successful TSD Foundation gala, and the upcoming TSD homecoming event.
Keith Baker, an automotive teacher at Texas School for the Deaf, is one of 25 winners of the 2023 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence.
