GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs advanced (senior-level) clerical work for warehouse inventory control. Work involves supervision of receiving, storing, and issuing stock; maintaining inventory and stock control records; handling and transporting documents and/or stock and inventory; maintaining files; and preparing reports. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the maintenance of files, materials, and supplies, and oversees the receiving, storing, and issuing of stock items
Conducts physical inventory of stock; and verifies, reconciles, and reports findings
Initiates inspections and controls to ensure that stock is stored and rotated properly
Initiates action to dispose of surplus stock
Records distribution of stock, calculates total cost of items issued, and charges to the proper account.
Reviews stock control records
Uses computer terminal to enter data on receipts and issuances to maintain automated inventory-control system
Operates mechanical and electrical/hydraulic lifting devices
Determines amount of stock needed to maintain adequate levels
Requests replenishment of stock as necessary
Maintains automated inventory-control system to include verifying clerical computations with physical count of items in stock, adjusting errors in counts, and preparing inventory reports
Prepares reports related to inventory, stock control, or warehouse activities
Supervises the Warehouse Clerk
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years experience in warehouse operations
Experience using software program Advanced Procurement Systems to maintain warehouse inventory
Sign Language: The applicant does not need to have sign language skills at hire but will be required to participate in sign language classes offered at TSD until reaching a level of SURVIVAL. as evaluated on the Signed Communication Proficiency Interview.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Proficient signed communications skills
Three or more years of experience in warehouse operations at a State agency
Two years of experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
