Greetings! I am Allen Hamilton and I teach Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology. It is my second year at TSD. Next year, I will teach a new course called Construction Technology in addition to Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology. I’m very excited about the new course as I believe it will broaden our students' skills to more career opportunities within this field.
I grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated at the deaf school there. I went on to attend NTID/RIT to receive an AAS in Electromechanical Technology. I worked in many different capacities such as Farmer’s Helper to Property Maintenance, Residential Advisor, Assembler, Device Technician, and Renovator/Contractor in my own business for 11 years before coming to teach at TSD.
I enjoy tending to the chickens I have at home, we also have two domestic cats that keep them hopping in the backyard. During my leisure time, I like tackle the ever-non-stop long list around my old house, which was built in 1968 (I am one year older than the house!) I also enjoy different kinds of outdoor activities, such as playing basketball, swimming at the YMCA and Zilker Park.
You can reach me during my prep time, which is M/W: 11:40 AM - 12:45 PM, and T/TH: 9:10 AM - 10:15 AM.
Room: Ford Building, Room 107
