Greetings! I am Allen Hamilton and I teach Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology. It is my second year at TSD. Next year, I will teach a new course called Construction Technology in addition to Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology. I’m very excited about the new course as I believe it will broaden our students' skills to more career opportunities within this field.
I grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated at the deaf school there. I went on to attend NTID/RIT to receive an AAS in Electromechanical Technology. I worked in many different capacities such as Farmer’s Helper to Property Maintenance, Residential Advisor, Assembler, Device Technician, and Renovator/Contractor in my own business for 11 years before coming to teach at TSD.
I enjoy tending to the chickens I have at home, we also have two domestic cats that keep them hopping in the backyard. During my leisure time, I like tackle the ever-non-stop long list around my old house, which was built in 1968 (I am one year older than the house!) I also enjoy different kinds of outdoor activities, such as playing basketball, and swimming at Barton Springs.
You can reach me during my prep time, which is on Monday toThursday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Room: Ford Building, Room 107
