Greetings! I am Ms. Bethany Gehman, Fine Arts and Child Development teacher in the Career & Technology Education department. This is my 5th year teaching at TSD.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Family & Child Studies from Gallaudet University and my Master's degree in Human Sexuality Education at Widener University. I've worked at a local daycare center in Pennsylvania, with Minnesota Conservation Corps, and at Gallaudet University's Art department as a tutor before I relocated to Austin to teach at TSD. I am certified as Texas Teacher to teach fine arts and child development. I am also a certified American Red Cross instructor to provide First Aid/CPR/AED training for child development classes.
I am involved with TSD's High School Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) as a sponsor. I provide tutoring after school on Mondays and Thursdays. I'm available during these times if you wish to contact me:
Mondays & Wednesdays from 10:25 - 11:35 AM
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:55 AM - 9:05 AM
My other areas of interest are traveling with my partner, being with our children (three cats and many, many, many plants), indulging in my inner foodie, enjoying nature, running, reading, drawing, painting, and many more!
You can contact me via email to make an appointment to meet with me or talk on VP.
