High School Program

Welcome to our High School Department website. Our students can choose from a variety of academic classes and programs which have been developed to meet their needs and interests. We provide courses that are aligned with the graduate programs that will challenge students based on their abilities and skills and prepare them for post-secondary education or the world of work.  We use Texas Resource System (TRS) as our curriculum which is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and we provide modifications and accommodations when appropriate.  We have our teachers and staff partake in ongoing staff development to stay in touch with current instructional strategies and trends to meet the ever-changing needs of our diverse student body.

 

We take pride in being the leader in instructional technology as each high school student is given an iPad for their instructional use and all teachers have been trained in incorporating technology and resources into the classroom.  We have a wide range of cutting-edge technology as all classrooms are equipped with teacher laptops, Activpanels, and smart TVs that connect with our laptops and iPads to enhance the learning experience of our students.  

 

We work closely with the Career and Technical Education department where all High School students have the opportunity to take a variety of electives that are relevant to their interests and career goals.  As the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child", and we take this close to heart as we have an array of services and student support personnel who are committed to ensuring the success of each student.  

 

Here in High School, we believe in the future and the importance of a good and well-balanced education for ensuring each student's place in it, so that they can play a part in helping to make our society a better place in which to live and be the difference.
