Free Documentary Screening: "Deaf People in Havana with Joel Barish"

Who: Joel Barish and Andres Otalora

What: Cuba has a long political history that caused the country to become stuck in a time capsule, but that can soon change as the U.S. government begins to lift the travel restrictions. Joel takes you on a unique visual journey through Havana, Cuba and the beauty of Deaf people within its culture. Q&A with Joel and Andres to follow.

When: Wednesday, May 6, 2015; Doors open at 5:00 p.m., Screening starts at 7:00 p.m.

Food: Cuban food for sale. First come, first served until 6:15 p.m.

Why: Joel, an avid traveler who traveled to over 80 countries around the world, felt that Cuba is so unlike other countries he’ve seen before and that inspired him to create the special edition of his popular show, “No Barriers with Joel Barish” to share his firsthand and in-depth experience with the community.
